Business mission to CIS countries

Draft action plan

 

 

 

Introduction:

 

ECMI is designated by the Minister of Industry and foreign Trade that gather industry related policy makers “producers, exporters and government representatives” to draft and implement export strategies that are compatible with the changing business environment and work as a consultative body to the minister .

 

Mission goals & objectives:

 

      Promote the Egyptian medical products in the CIS market

      Get acquainted with the products’ registration procedure, pricing system in the CIS market.

      Enhance the sector’s capabilities and competitiveness to match the CIS standards.

      Improve the sector’s export to the CIS market

      B2B meetings with serious agents/traders/buyers

      Joint-venture activities between both parties

      Site visits to the top medical manufacturers to detect the latest technology used

 

Beneficiaries:

 

The program should serve the medical companies that cover the following sub-sectors:

1-      Medical devices

2-      Pharmaceuticals (human & vet)

3-      Cosmetics

 

Mission partners:

 

The proposed activities will be undertaken by the following parties:

-          The Export Council of Medical Industries / ECMI

-          The Egyptian Exporters Association (ExpoLink)

-          The Egyptian Businessmen council (if any)

-          ECS offices in CIS countries

-          The Egyptian manufacturers / beneficiaries

-          Egyptian Exhibition & Conferences Authority - EECA

 

Tentative mission date:

 

September 2015, more focus will be on Kazakhstan, Uzpakistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan …etc

 

Proposed activities:

 

1-      Promotion & marketing

a.      Extensive promotion & awareness about the Egyptian mission among the sector stakeholders

b.      Newsletter to be disseminated among the sector players

c.       Advertisement in special magazines in the CIS countries

d.      Establish contact with the following entities in the target markets:

a.      Industrial chamber

b.      Commercial chamber

c.       Distributors and importers association

e.      Brief about each targeted sector and company profiles to be prepared in Russian language.

 

2-      Companies profile for B2B meetings

The match making process depends on the proper match of profiles and requirements between both parties.

**Attached is the company profile that should be filled that is essential for the match making.

A hotel hall will be rented, where all the B2B meetings will be conducted based on a prepared schedule prior to the mission date.

 

3-      Official  representatives

A workshop will be conducted with the official following representatives, providing more about the needed requirements for starting new business, product registration, sector profile, quality standards needed…etc

-          Ministry of Health (MOH)

-          Ministry of Industry

-          Customs authority

-          Chamber of Commerce

-          Medical Associations

 

4-      Site visits

Site visits to be included in the mission to the following:

-          Biggest manufacturer in the sector

-          Clinics and hospitals

-          Specialized industrial zone

 

 

Required information prior to the mission

 

The following information is essential for the domestic companies to be able to access the market and participate in the mission:

-          Market brief about the medical sector in target markets

-          Main competitors and market share

-          Sector import and export figures

-          MOH development strategy and plan for the sector

-          Local medical insurance

-          Main industrial players

-          Medical sector expenditure

-          Product registration procedures

 

 

The mission’s covered costs

 

Further to the EECA procedures the following costs will be 70% subsidized, excluding the air-ticket and accommodation.

-          Local transportation

-          Rent of hotel hall for workshop

-          Workshop and B2B meeting costs

-          Translators
